Whole Foods Opens November 4 at Marketplace at Tech Center
October 27, 2015
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (October 2015) – The much-anticipated opening of Whole Foods Market at the Marketplace at Tech Center will happen November 4. Whole Foods Market will hold a bread-breaking ceremony at 8:45 a.m., and doors will open to the public at 9 a.m. The nation’s leader in natural and organic foods will join the growing roster of tenants in the 250,000-square-foot retail center with its first store in Newport News.
“Whole Foods Market brings a new level of retail to the Peninsula, and we know they will be very successful in this location.” said John Lawson, CEO of W.M. Jordan.
“Whole Foods Market is the gold standard of grocery stores,” said Jeff Garrison, with S. J. Collins. “We have more entertainment and retail offerings in the works, and we anticipate tremendous support from the community for this vibrant new center.”
The Newport News Whole Foods Market store will include the Oyster Point Pub and Raw Bar, with 15 beers on tap (most of which are local brews), an extensive bakery with scratch-made artisan bread, local suppliers on every aisle, and much more. And, since the holidays are just around the corner, customers will be able to order their Thanksgiving favorites, from appetizer to dessert—including fresh turkeys for $.99/lb. and a wide variety of sides—beginning the day the doors open.
Developers anticipate a lot of interest in the opening, and valet parking will be available to customers along with additional parking adjacent to the center.
